Artist's Comments

Darkseid, ruler of the planet Apokalips, is a DC comics creation. Aside from the domination of everything he comes into contact with, Darseid's ultimate goal is to discover the secret to the Anti-Life Equation. Darkseid was created by Jack "The King" Kirby, as part of Jack's New Gods series...though his 1st appearance takes place in Jimmy Olsen #134. No one knows for sure the full extent of Darkseid's awesome might, but key amongst his powers are his Omega Beams. Firing from his eyes, Darkseid can control the direction in which these deadly beams travel. He can use the Omega Effect to incinerate, repel, or even recreate those back to life whom he had previously extinguished personally. He is quite simply one of DC comics mightiest characters.

Edit:
Darkseid gets the biggest edit(naturally). I felt he really needed a background, so I added one. I then took a hint of inspiration from Darkseid's costume in the final JLU episode "Destroyer", but just a little here and there.

yeah the Supergirl Arc in "Batman/Superman" has a lot of the ol' 'sied in it. Yup he's pretty evil.

Wooooo.....total rockage!!! I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I like the fact that this is an all pencil piece with the exception of his eyes. What a cool effect. And they stand right out at you too. Like, "You're next, mortal." Great pose-it so suits him. Including the arm that you have up like he's all mighty "Now bow to me or suffer the consequenses!" LOL!!! Fantastic work on this one!
